A Surprise About a Wedding Blessing

An email we received yesterday about the popular Apache Wedding Blessing took us by surprise. That page was one of the first pages on our web site back in 1997.

In 2007, Rebecca Mead revealed in her expose of the wedding industry, One Perfect Day: The Selling of the American Wedding, that the blessing was actually written by screenwriter Albert Maltz for the 1950 movie Broken Arrow. Thanks Jennifer for the FYI!
